The drug Babchi consists of dry ripe fruits of Psoralea corylifolia L. (Fabaceae); a drug yielding plant is an erect, 0.3-1.8 m. high annual herb, distributed throughout India, found commonly in Uttar Pradesh, Bengal and Maharashtra.
Temperament: Hot & Dry 20
Action(s): Blood purifier (Musaffi-e-Dam), Rubefacient (Mohammir-e-Jild), Stomachic (Muqawwi-e-Meda), Vermicide (Qatil-e-Deedan-e-Ama), Laxative (Mulaiyin).
Theraputic Use(s): Abnormality of blood (Fasad-e-Dam), Leprosy (Juzam), Vitiligo (Bars), Pityriasis alba (Bahaq Abyaz).
Dose: 3 to 5 g.
