The drug Badranjboya consists of dried leaves of Nepeta hindostana (Roth.) Haines (Lamiaceae); the plant is found in hilly parts of Punjab, Bengal, Bihar, Kumaon, Rajasthan, Dcccan and Konkan. It occurs during winter season.
Temperament: Hot 2° Dry 2°
Action(s): Exhilarant (Mufarreh), Cardiotonic (Muqawwi-e-Qalb), Concoctive of black bile (Munzij-e-Sauda), Blood purifier (Musaffi-e-Dam), Resolvent of swelling/Anti-inflammatory (Mohallil-e-Waram), Calming agent (Musakkin)
Theraputic Use(s): Cardiac insufficiency(Zof-e-Qalb), Palpitation(Khafaqan),Epilepsy (Sara), Facial palsy(Laqwa), Hemiplegia(Falij), Polyarthritis(Waja-ul-Mafasil)
Dose: 5-7 g.
